I am a warm and thoughtful psychotherapist with nearly 20 years of experience. My work is grounded in mindfulness, compassion, and understanding. I draw from a host of theoretical orientations and empirical science.
I began my work at a college counseling center serving individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and body image issues. During this time I was trained in Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Following this, I worked at a boutique private practice in New York City where I spearheaded a specialized track for women suffering from disordered eating, body image dissatisfaction, and trauma symptoms. I lead DBT groups teaching coping skills and offered individual, couples, and family therapy
My understanding of trauma and grief are layered in a vast spectrum of experience, as well as advanced Trauma, Grief, and Loss training. I worked as an acute care social worker in the traumatic brain and spinal cord injury unit at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases for many years. I have acted as the director of social services and mental health expert for multiple housing organizations across New York City. I worked as a forensic social worker at the largest civil legal services agency in the country providing psychological evaluations and testimony for undocumented individuals and asylum seekers. I have spent over a decade working for international organizations, where I offer testimony, expert mental health assessments, and provide narratives for immigrant children and families seeking reunification.
